Béla Weisz

Born in Szekszárd in 1965, he graduated from high school there in 1983 and, later that same year, was admitted to the Kecskemét Animation Studio. Over the course of his career, he has worked on numerous animated series, commercials, and independent films as a draftsman, animator, screenwriter, and director. His films have been selected for the competition programs of many festivals around the world.

In addition to filmmaking, he has a strong interest in poster art and caricature. In the latter field, he has received several national awards, and his drawings are regularly published in Hungarian periodicals.

In 1991, as a scholarship recipient, he worked at the French Folimage studio as a key animator, contributing to the studio’s various television series and feature-length animated films. In 2007, he was a guest lecturer at the Poudrière Animation School in France.

Between 2014 and 2015, under commission from the Hungarian Institute for Educational Research and Development (OFI), he designed, illustrated, and developed Flash-based Learning Objects (LOs) for OFI’s primary school textbooks.
