Hungarian Folk Tales
Hungarian Folk Tales (Original Title: Magyar népmesék) is a Hungarian animated series and one of the first and biggest successes of Pannonia Film Studio. Based on an original idea by studio head Ferenc Mikulás and directed by Marcell Jankovics, the series originally aired on television between 1980 and 2012. Each episode is based on a Hungarian folk tale and features the specific folk motifs of a particular region of Hungary. The theme song and score were composed by Kaláka, one of Hungary’s best-known folk bands.
