Hunimation Hits the Streets
Date: June 7-14, 0-24
Location: Streets of Annecy town Centre, Bonlieu, Lafayette
Get ready for an animated adventure through the city! With the support of the National Film Institute, the Hungarian Animation Creators are putting on a street exhibition like no other—celebrating 110 years of animation with a playful twist.
Dreamed up by Daniel Huszár, the exhibition turns the city and park into a living storyboard, where characters from beloved films pop up and playfully interact with the surrounding architecture. From larger-than-life classics to quirky modern gems, the installations are brought to life by contemporary artists like Réka Bucsi, Péter Vácz, Luca Tóth, and Balázs Turai. You’ll also spot heroes from iconic films such as The Time Masters, Cat City, and the much-loved Hungarian Folk Tales series.
Wander the city, follow the trail, and stumble upon these surprises tucked into unexpected corners. Snap a photo, take a breather between screenings, and dive into stories behind the scenes on the info boards.
There’s even a map to guide you—can you catch them all?
