Primanima is an international festival and competition of first animations, which is dedicated to up-and-coming film directors. Its co-founders launched it in 2012 with a goal to provide a platform for young animation talents to present their very first artworks. Seven categories compete for the awards of Primanima: Student Films, Graduation Films, First films, Children’s Films, PrimaTeen Films, Masters Competition and Silhouettes Competition.

Primanima takes place in the buzzing little town of Budaörs, Hungary (in the suburb of the Hungarian capital, Budapest). In addition to the screenings visitors can enjoy international workshops, forums, design markets, exhibitions, concerts. The main host of the event is the Budaörs Animation Base and Creative Space (BABtér).
