CEE Animation opens its 2026 call
The CEE Animation Workshop, one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most prestigious training programmes for developing animated projects, has opened its Call for the 2026 edition — and once again, Hungarian animation professionals are strongly encouraged to apply.
Over the past years, numerous Hungarian animation projects and producers have found international successthrough the workshop, confirming Hungary’s growing influence in the CEE animation scene.
The year-long international training is designed for producers and creative teams developing animation projects of any format — from short films and series to features, hybrid works and XR projects — as well as career-oriented participants seeking to expand their skills in the industry. In 2026, the programme introduces a new opportunity for script consultant trainees, offering two years of hands-on experience alongside established professionals.
Throughout the workshop, participants will develop their scripts, refine their pitches and expand their understanding of animation financing, co-production strategies, marketing, sustainability, and festival distribution. The training combines four one-week modules — two held online and two on-site in different European countries — and includes participation in the CEE Animation Forum 2026 in Czechia, the region’s largest co-production market for animated films.
Hungarian professionals have been a consistent presence at the Workshop in recent years, with multiple projects developed through the programme later progressing to major festivals and international markets. The initiative continues to serve as a vital platform for emerging and mid-career Hungarian talents to build international partnerships and strengthen their creative and professional networks within the European animation industry.
The application deadline is November 10, 2025.
