Flóra Anna Buda
Born and raised in the 8th district of Budapest, Flora Anna Buda studied fashion before her love for drawing and storytelling led her to animation. She was accepted at MOME, where she graduated at 27. Her graduation film, Entopia, premiered at the 69th Berlinale and won the 33rd Teddy Award.
After graduation, she interned at MIYU Productions, where she later directed her first professional film, 27, a co-production with Boddah. Completed in early 2023, 27 premiered at the Festival de Cannes, winning the Palme d’Or for Best Short Film. It went on to receive the Crystal Award at the Annecy Festival, a nomination for the European Film Awards, and was shortlisted for both the César and the Academy Awards in the animated short category.
The film was developed through ASF (Animation Sans Frontières), pre-produced at the Open Workshop Residency in Viborg, Denmark, and won the CICLIC Award at the MIFA Pitch Forum in Annecy. Production took place in Paris, Budapest, and the CICLIC Residency in Vendôme.
Currently, Flora is one of the residents at La Résidence du Cinéma de Demain, where she is writing her first feature film, transitioning from animation to live action. Driven by a passion for exploring diverse visual worlds and telling honest stories, she seeks new ways to merge her artistic interests into meaningful projects.
